Kindergarten

Helping to prepare snack is a highlight of the kindergarten day. Nurturing and protecting childhood in a beautiful, homelike setting is a key element of the Kindergarten program. The teacher weaves daily and weekly rhythms into the cycles of the year. A healthy balance between creative play, music, movement and artistic activity is maintained.

The kindergarten offers five-day and three-day programs, with half or full day options. Half-day classes meet from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., while full-day meets from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Extended care is also available.

Requirements
Five and six year old children are invited to enroll in the kindergarten. In some cases, four and a half year old children may be permitted to attend. Children play outdoors every day at Shining Rivers.
