Position Description
Enrollment Coordinator

Reports to
Board of Trustees

Supervises
Volunteers for outreach activities

Hours
Academic Year: 20 hours/week 1-3pm office + tours, events
Summer: 20 hours/week (flexible office hours)

Duties and Responsibilities
Depending on assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to:
* Act as the principle point of contact between prospective families and Shining Rivers. Field all questions from perspective families via phone, email or in person. Make every effort to respond to all communications within 24 hours. Mail marketing and press materials to perspective families.
* Oversee admissions and enrollment, as well as monitor retention.
* Direct parents through the Admissions process, including the initial interview, and accepts students into Shining Rivers. Conduct exit interviews when a family leaves.
* Plan and oversee the execution of all enrollment related events, including open houses and special events such as: talks on Waldorf Education, parent orientation, etc. Facilitate the arrangement of school tours, interviews with teachers (not home visits), and any observation.
* Collect, process and track all Admissions paperwork, including applications, payment, immunization forms, etc.
* Initiate reenrollment campaign each spring and provide periodic reports to the Personnel and Finance Committees, Faculty, and the Board.
* Evaluate materials for display at talks outside of school.

School Participation and Team Work
Attend Finance, Board, Personnel, and Faculty meetings as needed. Collaborate with parent volunteers and faculty on Outreach efforts and sit on the Outreach Committee. Communicate updates regularly with the Administrative Team.

Confidentiality
Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism commensurate with working in an educational setting.

Training

Qualifications
Required:

* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, including ability to prioritize and multitask.

Administrative Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities
Depending on assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to:
* Act as the principle point of contact between families and Shining Rivers. Field questions from families via phone, email or in person and redirect them to appropriate individual to answer questions. Field questions of process and procedure. Make every effort to respond to all communications within 24 hours.
* Maintain school contact list and other school wide databases, lists, and materials.
* Aid the Business Manager and Enrollment Coordinator with filing, student records, reports, etc.
* Assist teachers with parent correspondence and communications.
* Be available for Board requests, including photocopying, etc.
* Update the Web site and coordinates the weekly newsletter.
* Arranges for building maintenance and schedules annual workdays, inside and out. Coordinate buildings and grounds work in cooperation with the Buildings and Grounds Committee.
* Perform general office duties as needed, including light cleaning.

Position Description
Business Manager

Reports to
Board of Trustees

Hours
Academic Year: 20 hours/week (flexible office hours)
Summer: 10 hours/week (flexible office hours)

Duties and Responsibilities
* Manages the daily finances of the school including accounts receivable and payable.
* Insures that the school meets all health and safety standards.
* Obtains contracts, permits, and other legal paperwork for the school.
* Maintains student and staff medical records.
* Oversees all financial, legal, and insurance matters for the school.
* Administer all insurance plans and benefits for employees, staff and faculty.
* Manages the tuition bills and flow.
* Collaborates with finance committee on annual budget. Maintain clear and concise fiscal records and budget updates. Track capital expenses, contracts, etc.
* Maintains all legal records for the school including immunization records for students and employees.
* Manages monthly bank statements and deposits and presents monthly budget review for the Finance Committee.
* Maintains nonprofit, tax-exempt status.
* Responsible for the tax preparation in collaboration with the Finance Committee.
* Using existing policies and procedures as a guide, make prudent fiscal decisions. Initiate the drafting of fiscal policies and procedures as needed in cooperation with the Finance Committee.
* Advise other school entities (Board, Faculty Chair(s), and committees) on tax, insurance, and federal, state and city laws, codes and regulations.
* Be available to provide the Grant/Fundraising Committees with information as needed.

School Participation and Team Work
Attends staff meetings with the Administrative Team. Sits on the Finance Committee and potentially Buildings and Grounds. May attend Board meetings as requested, but not as a voting member of the Board.

Handwork teacher

Reports to
Lead Teachers for Grades 1-4

Hours
8 classes per week (2 classes per grade)

Duties and Responsibilities
* Teach a variety of practical arts to elementary children, including knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, etc.
* Using the standard Steiner Waldorf Curriculum for handwork, develop and document curriculum and lesson plans.
* Provide attention to rhythm of the lesson and employ active learning techniques.

School Participation and Team Work
Meet weekly in person or over the phone with each of the lead teachers. Encouraged to attend some faculty meetings. Provide input for parent-teacher conferences and attend when possible. Attend Specialty Teacher professional development meetings.

Required

* Proficient in the following arts: advanced knitting (pattern knitting, knitting in the round, etc), sewing, and crocheting.

* Use immersion to develop language skills in grades level children.
* Using the standard Steiner Waldorf Curriculum for languages, develop and document curriculum and lesson plans that emphasize traditional children’s songs, games, poems, and activities.
* Provide attention to rhythm of the lesson and employ active learning techniques.
* Provide input into festival planning.

School Participation and Team Work
Meet weekly in person or over the phone with each of the lead teachers. Encouraged to attend some faculty meetings. Provide input for parent-teacher conferences and attend when possible. Attend Specialty Teacher professional development meetings.
