Morning
Garden is for two to four-year-olds who are ready to explore
and socialize independently of their parents in a safe and homelike
atmosphere. The Morning Garden program meets from 8:30 a.m. until
11:30 a.m. (extended care is also
available). Two, Three and Five-Day programs are available. This
program is often chosen to be a child's first experience away from
home.
The young child is nourished in an environment which provides developmentally
appropriate experiential and sensorial opportunities through creative
play indoors and outdoors. Movement and music, stories and puppetry
stimulate the senses and encourage healthy physical development.
Children also have the opportunity to participate in snack preparation
and artistic activities. Playthings are carefully chosen in order
to allow for imaginative play and special care is given to selection
of healthy, nutritious, whole-foods snacks.
Teachers and children participate in such activities as:
- Creative Free Play
- Watercolor Painting
- Storytelling
- Puppet Shows
- Singing
- Outdoor Play
- Breadbaking and healthy snack preparation
Requirements
Children must be potty-trained (although we are prepared for the
occasional accident). Enrollment is for the year.
