Morning Garden is for two to four-year-olds who are ready to explore and socialize independently of their parents in a safe and homelike atmosphere. This program is often chosen to be a child’s first experience away from home.
The young child is nourished in an environment which provides developmentally appropriate experiential and sensory opportunities through creative play indoors and outdoors. Movement and music, stories and puppetry stimulate the senses and encourage healthy physical development. Children also have the opportunity to participate in snack preparation and artistic activities. Playthings are carefully chosen to allow for imaginative play and special care is given to selection of healthy, nutritious, whole-food snacks.
Teachers and children participate in such activities as:
- Creative Free Play
- Watercolor Painting
- Storytelling & Puppetry
- Singing
|
- Outdoor Play
- Garden walks
- Bread Baking and Snack Preparation

“We shouldn’t ask: what does a person need to know or be able to do in order to fit into the existing social order? Instead we should ask: what lives in each human being and what can be developed in him or her? Only then will it be possible to direct the new qualities of each emerging generation into society. The society will become, what young people as whole human beings, make out of the existing social conditions. The new generation should not just be made to be what the present society wants it to become.”
